Spook House Sunday Presents: More Music Videos with Lyrics

For this week's Spook House Sunday I thought I would give yet a further glimpse into music I listen to. These particular selections are on my Walkman in a folder titled "Lili's Mix." I listen to these to help me get to sleep. You had a peek at a few of them last week. Those songs were based on my love of all things goth. I do, however, listen to some stuff that I think you wouldn't dream I like.

So, let me explain why I do.

I grew up around music. My grandfather played the fiddle as did me uncle. My granny played the accordion and the Bodhran. Everyone sang. I played the flute for 10 years, picked up keyboard and synth and have sung since the day I was born, I think. I had several bands during my teen years, and even wrote several original songs with me band mate - all without being able to read music. It must be the Irish blood. Anyway, I have a thing for a nice melody with meaningful lyrics.

Music has always had a profound effect on me. I feel each and every note as though it were a drug coursing through my veins. My favourite music is traditional Irish, but I seldom listen to it anymore as it makes me too home sick. Besides Nox Arcana and classical, I have chosen some songs based on my love of the lyrics combined with beautiful melodies, musical arrangements, or just a combo with some kick ass guitar thrown in.

I love the way emotions are put to words, and turned into song. It moves me to the inner core of my being.

Alright, I suppose I should stop blathering and get on with it. I hope you like this further glimpse into the labyrinth that is my mind.
